Cassandra Hastings, MD joined our Pediatric Department in September, 2022. She attended Northern Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics with minors in Math and Chemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude, with honors. She obtained her Medical Degree at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine; and went on to complete her Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Arizona – Tucson College of Medicine, where she served as Chief Pediatric Resident. Dr. Hastings is Board Certified through the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Hastings is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), member of the American Medical Association (AMA), and member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA).
Dr. Hastings says her greatest joy in practicing pediatrics is walking alongside families through this period of their lives. She feels that it is an honor to play a role in a child’s life as their pediatrician and something she looks forward to everyday. She has an interest in all aspects of pediatrics, with special interest in advocacy and rural/international health. She is very excited to be caring for the children on the Southern Coast of Oregon!
Personally, Dr. Hastings enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Dr. Jang, who is an Ophthalmologist at Bay Eye Clinic. She plays competitive ultimate frisbee and competes on traveling club teams. She enjoys doing a variety of outdoor activities, playing the piano and cello, singing and having jam sessions with her fiancé.
