Kathryn Johnson, MD joined the General Surgery Department at NBMC in February 2024. Dr. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in French. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed the General Surgery Residency Program at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Johnson’s educational interests gave her the opportunity to perform biochemical research with melanoma and associated proteins for two summers and participate in a medical student exchange program where she traveled to Romania for a month-long anesthesia/ICU rotation.

In her spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys hiking, biking, running and yoga. She loves traveling with her twin sister (who also happens to be a surgeon) and exploring new places – especially National/State parks. She is an avid reader and loves crafting/DIY.
